I have owned and run a custom furniture shop for nine years. As such, my wife and I will handpick the wood used in your crate top from our shop. All of the pieces that we chose will be rustic and reclaimed. Please be sure to look at the video, photos, and description to make sure this is your style. Colors may appear different from monitor to monitor. I seal every inch of your crate covered with polyurethane to reduce the chance of any wrapping. though there is still a slight chance, minimal warping may still occur during shipping. I recommend unpacking it upon receiving the top and checking for any unevenness; if any is present, I suggest you lay it on a flat surface with a heavy weight on top to flatten it again. My crate tops are assembled with several mortises and tenon joints along each board and then I apply glue along all edges to create an extremely strong bond. Once assembled, they are instantly put into several 4-way clamps and given 24 hours to dry flat as possible. After that, each dog crate cover is sanded, stained, and completely sealed with poly on top, underneath, and on all edges this will aid them in becoming water-resistant, help reduce wrapping, shrinking, and cracking and extend the life of the crate cover for many years. Then they are sanded one more time with an extremely fine grit to give them a baby smooth finish. Finally, I add a slip lip to each top to help prevent the crate top from sliding off during dog movement or accidentally bumping. There are NO screw holes in my dog crate tops. Sizes are approximate, allowing for variance. Dog crate top only. Crate not included.
